I’m a bit late in posting about Veterans Day and I have missed a couple of NaBloPoMo posts. Oh to find time to do everything on my list would be wonderful. The Veterans Day parade in downtown Fort Worth this year was great. The weather was wonderful and they recently opened a new plaza area which quickly became filled with people who wanted to watch the parade pass by (I will have images of the plaza in a later post). I shot a TON of photographs, went through them and would up keeping around 150 and put those into an online gallery.

I love seeing the Vets with their spouses. These two couples were my favorite from the day.
The high school marching bands are also a highlight of the parade for me. The drums are my favorite.
I see familiar faces all around but there is one Army Veteran in particular that I see every year at the parade. I try to find him so I can shake his hand. This year I had a hard time locating him since he was not in his usual spot. He always brings his USA flag folding chair and as each military, police and fire fighter passes he stands up and gives them a salute.
